Organize Your Project Structure

Whereness helps you keep projects organized with a clear structure: Scenes → Spaces → Layers. This guide shows how to set it up and manage it as your project grows.

Create a new Space

1

In the Spaces section of the Side Panel click on the + button and choose Space from the drop down menu.

2

A new Space will be created. Create new Scenes or drag and drop the existing scenes into the Space area to incude them in it.

3

Right-click the space name to rename or delete it.

Create a new Layer

You can also create layers, which are containers for spaces. They are especially useful when organizing big projects.

Creating Layers follows similar steps as creating Spaces.

1

In the Spaces section of the Side Panel click on the + button and choose Layer from the drop down menu.

2

Drag and drop spaces into the new Layer area to include them in it.

3

Right-click the Layer name to rename or delete it.

When deleting a Space or Layer, it will be deleted with all its content inside.

Understanding the Project Structure

Projects in Whereness are organized into three main levels:

  • Scenes – Single media files like 360° images, 360° videos, or 3D models

  • Spaces – Groups of related scenes

  • Layers – Containers for spaces

You can view and manage this structure from the Side Panel.

🔹 Scenes

Scenes are the smallest unit in a Whereness project. Each scene displays one media file and can include interactive elements like scene links or information tags. Sound can also be added to a Scene.

🔸 Spaces

Spaces organize scenes into logical groups—like chapters in a story or rooms in a tour. Use them to keep your project clean and easy to navigate.

🟣 Layers

Layers are the top-level structure. A layer contains multiple spaces and is ideal for separating big chunks of content, like different locations or user journeys.

Reorganize Your Project

You can drag and drop scenes, spaces, and layers within the side panel to:

  • Move scenes between spaces

  • Move spaces between layers

  • Reorder items within any group

This is especially useful when a project grows and needs restructuring.
